Booking both exams together: the combo price

Booked separately, the exams cost $70 General + $60 State. Pearson VUE’s handbook adds “Combo discount of $75 available when scheduling these exams back to back”, and its Arizona page calls it a “two-for-one combo examination discount” when both exams are booked for the same day. The Department’s 2023 fee schedule, written before the split, listed $75 for exam application and exam fees combined. Neither source spells out the total you pay for the pair, so check the amount on Pearson VUE’s payment screen when you book both exams for the same day. Booked separately, the two fees simply add up.

What a retake costs

Wait 24 hours, then book with Pearson VUE (not at the test center); each retake costs the same as the first attempt. The exams are priced separately, so if you retake only the exam you failed, a State retake is $60 and a General retake $70; whether a passed exam carries over is covered under retakes.

A missed appointment can cost more than a retake: change or cancel at least 48 hours before the exam; later, the whole fee is forfeited.

After the license: renewal

Every 2 years, 24 hours of continuing education. Renewal fee: $60 on time, $125 late; no Recovery Fund charge on renewal. Continuing-education courses are priced by the schools that teach them. The statute caps the Department’s fees (A.R.S. § 32-2132: a salesperson license at most $125, a renewal at most $200), so the current amounts are the Department’s choice within those limits.

Where these fees come from

Exam fees are from Pearson VUE’s February 2026 candidate handbook. The license and renewal fees are from the Department’s fee schedule effective Aug. 7, 2023, read from an archived copy of May 31, 2025. The DPS fee is from the DPS site, checked Oct 24, 2026. Check the Department’s fee page before you pay.
